O/T Cruise Control is Dangerous in the wet

I hadn't heard of this before but a police officer said,at the scene of an accident that you shouldn't use cruise control in the wet.The reason being if your car aqua-planes the wheels with the sensor can slow down which causes the car to accelerate and can cause you to loose control.As I said thats a new one for me.Anybody heard of that before?
