Yep i totally agree, the victim is always forgotten when the judge gives em a slap on the wrist, the scum who nicked my bike got a community order and was ordered to pay me £500 compensation at £10 per month taken out of his dole (he was also caught with a stolen van), i should see that money in 4 and a bit years time :( . But the effect it had on my everyday life when it happened was worse, i live in a rural area and depend on my bike for working shifts as public transport is shite where i am, if it wasnt for having an understanding employer where they made allowances for my train arrival and depart times i would have probably lost my job, as i am only on a tad over minimum wage it took me 4 months to save up and get what i am currently riding about on now, and to add insult to injury when i went to the recovery yard to collect what was left of my cub i was told because i had 3rd only insurance that will be £260 please for recovery and storage, i told them to f*** off and reminded them it is me thats the victim of crime and not the other way round!! In some Middle Eastern countries thieves get thier hands chopped off, now there's a good idea perhaps? >:(
