Im in Bournemouth Todders, I have done about 10,000 on the Innova and bought the bike with about 8,000 miles on the clock, although I didn't notice the noise when I bought it, the noise has been there pretty much since day one of my owning it I reckon. I can say it sounds sort of rattly/tappy like something is a bit loose/free, you will notice it more by turning the tickover screw on the carb down really low as it will go without stalling, but I have scratched my head on this one so much I gave up and just thought I'd ride it til it went bang but that was 9,000 miles ago and it has gotten any worse, bike still runs well and does not use excess oil. Its definitely not the tappets but I think it sounds like the noise is coming from the clutch/area side of the engine and is not top end noise, Im convinced it is nothing to do with the piston.
