As a long time user of Waxoil I think that the thicker consistency is a big advantage over the Dinitrol / ACF50 products. It is much more resistant to weathering and road blast. I apply it using a garden trigger spray and find this quite satisfactory as long as I stand the container and spray in a bucket of hot water beforehand. After application a quick waft over with a hot air gun melts the wax which runs into all the crevices, also giving a smooth coating to the waxoiled surfaces. As previously mentioned its messy, plenty of newspaper and paper towels to catch the excess or you will have a rustproof garage floor as I have. I still have a full head of hair to which I attribute to a Waxoil incident 20 years ago !. :s o.O
