It pains me to complain but in this case its justified regarding Wyeside campsite in Rhayader mid wales. I cant seem to find a way of emailing the Camping and Caravanning Club directly so its now on Facebook. Apparently it has or is changing hands and boasts membership of the Camping and Caravanning Club; whos motto is "the friendly club". I have been here on numerous previous weekends with the Bristol Trail Riders Fellowship in mid June where around 6-8 people & tent pitches are taken. I dont think there has been one occasion where it has been remotely full. This year there were us 8 plus about another 6 motorcyclists, I think one cyclist and perhaps two camper vans. It was disapointing that the toilet paper was almost exhausted on both days, the bins were full and then we were accosted verbally by the lady running the site one evening saying we were tearing about and upsetting other campers. Turns out it may have been one of the other motorcyclists giving his daughter a ride on his bike. Two of our members had in fact ridden at walking pace across the grass - err, its a campsite made of grass in case you were wondering and were told that they should have pushed their bikes. Would that apply to a car or caravan I wonder? Its not like there were loads of non motorcycle customers to offend in any case!

The last straw being when I went with my girlfriend for the weekend. I said on arrival we would stay for one or two nights but likely two so paid for two. My details were on the system as I gad been there many times before. On the Saturday morning after a midge fest and rainy day we decided to abandon the second night and asked for a refund to be told its not policy as it is a minimum of two nights stay. News to me! I think this is very narrow minded considering my regular custom and my bringing around 8 people in groups throughout the year as part of my club.

We have agreed therefore in future NOT to attend this campsite and would not recommend others to stay here as it is most certainly not a friendly campsite.
