. I went to a lecture with the IMechE about a South African 2 mile long iron ore train pulled buy 4 engines 1 at each end & 2 spaced equally in the middle. They ran on a single track every few minutes with sidings for passing & if any wagons de-railed they were pushed of the track by a bulldozer (don’t know where the dozer was kept).
