Odd trivia.. The Wolseley 4/44 used an MG engine (1250cc XPA from the TF) where the MG Magnette used an Austin engine (the Nuffield & Austin BMC merger happened just before launch, so they took advantage of the superior Austin 'B' series 1500 for the MG)

These Magnettes were far better cars than the subsequent badge engineered Austin Cambridge version, which took a tep backwards with it's old steerung box instead of tha ZA/ZB's nice rack and pinion.
