The VMCC Magazine has had many articles and comments lately on the drawbacks of ethanol, and the news is not at all good. Things will get a good deal worse in the next few years when the permissible level of ethanol in petrol rises from the current 5% to 10%. Older cars and motorcycles, including our Cubs, may well have big corrosion and other problems, especially if fuel is left in the tank for long periods. I am convinced that the float needle corrosion problem I experienced recently on a Cub clone engine was due to ethanol.
