Hi Mike....

Medical facilities are allegedly good, dentistry is good & very cheap.

Gas, Where we are is bottled only, where you buy the empty bottle & then get it filled at petrol stations , AGAIN cheap..
Electricity is unbelievably cheap....
Water , yes youve guessed.....cheap
We can update actual costs after we get our 1st bills.
petrol approx 90p a litre
diesel approx £1 a litre
LPG ( Vehicle ) 45p a litre
House Ins our friends have a 6 month FREE policy approx £40 per year
Vehicle insurance costs. Our friends have a Toyota pick up & are paying £50 per year.
Public transport
Bus--- Our village is 18 km from the main town & I think there is 1 or 2 buses a day ?
We haven't used it yet !
GREAT PLACE TO USE A CUB !
train available if any. No trains to our village
Council tax for all 3 properties for 12 months is .....£9 a year.
Cell fone coverage. Amazingly internet & mobile coverage is ALL over the place.
Satellite TV with INTERNET PLUS a mobile phone package is just £9 a month
500ml bottle of Becks lager 38p
How does the local crime rate compare with uk.
Not sure on this one , but we haven't experienced any crime at all.
Locals are friendly & younger generation speak english
The area on the Black Sea coast ( Sunny Beach ) is allegedly run by the mafia ! but that is miles away.
Sues Mum & Dad have bought further south east to us & their village is almost FULL of ex pats from STOKE !!!
So if you are worried about being isolated ( which we aren't ) you could always look at a village like theirs.
Is tv ln english on tap, satellite or other.
NO IDEA , I reckon its in Bulgarian , but as mentioned above satellite IS AVAILABLE.
We just haven't had the time or inclination to watch any TV
Do you intend to reside there full time.
What do you reckon?
We are hoping to.....SOON
We were there in September & it was 35 degrees....
End of May it was 40.
Winters are cold but don't last too long.

Finally have you read ALL of the blogs?
If you click on the AUGUST index on the ri ght you will read "The Beginning" followed by " The drive down to Bulgaria "
