Been out and about. Am off up to the Dales today and will be taking my new cub picnic stove with me. Theres a bench just inside the gates at the ruins of Sawley abbey thats a perfect spot for a fry up.Here's a picture of it in action cooking up an excellent cheeseburger with onions. We've made the little meths burners before. I wanted to put one of these inside another can which would act as pan support and windshield. This is about Mk 5. I tried a few different cans to get the diameter right and height above the burner right. One of my original reasons for buying the cub was as a backup if the car ever let me down. The clutch went on the car yesterday... had a good look at it as I waited for my mate to come and tow me home. The outer clutch cable is somehow pulling through its stop at the pedal end. Will take the dash apart next week to see if there is any possibility of putting some sort of plate in. In the meantime its fun all the way on the "90". I've noticed that always by the time I get half a mile on the bike I'm smiling. A couple of years ago I proposed an early Sunday morning meet up on Southport prom with people bringing their camping stoves and having a communal fry up. Anyone fancy it sometime. Regards. Bob. PS We are having our first fondou attempt this evening, have got the cheese etc. Dogs will be berzerk.
