I've been away from the board for some time due to a stay in hospital. Unfortunately I have now been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I have been offered a massive bout of surgery which I have turned down. At the age of 80, the thought of so much stress and disturbance to me and my family in return for possibly a very modest increase in life expectancy is not an option I want. So I am letting nature take its course and will rely on the palliative care offered by my local hospice to see me through to the end. As to timing, my guess is anything from 6 months to a year. Fortunately, right now I feel fine, with no obvious symptoms or pain, and am still able to do all the usual things, including plenty of Cubbing.
So there we are chaps - I have had a pretty good life, but if I suddenly disappear altogether from the board you will know the reason why.
