Paul,It wasn't a problem with the master cylinder, most likely the pistons are sticking in the wheel cylinder. ( I assume we are talking Innova? )The seals in the wheel cylinder need replacing and the piston and body need cleaning. Quite honestly if you don't know what you are doing then stripping wheel and master cylinders are best left to someone who does. It may not be your life that is at stake if the brake fails. Sorry to preach but I have seen some really dangerous bodges by well meaning amateurs. Find a good mechanic to help you rebuild it and know, not hope, that it is OK. Dogsbody
