Glad you both enjoyed yesterday's ride, but you've missed a good en today! Totally EVENTFUL with strong winds in places, Mr Bogger getting a puncture (not surprising when you see the way he rides), then his (Mr Bogger's) bike blows over at Castleton and he decides he's been too much of an unlucky charm and goes home. After that we encountered a road closure that occurs every Sunday from 10 till 4 that I should have known about when I planned the route. This forced us back the same way we'd just come for a while and we missed out on some stunning valley scenery. After that though it began to get even worse with a Dangerous Dave's bike giving up just as we entered Buxton. What followed was a 40 minute wait at the petrol station sheltering from the rain while Diesel ran his healing hands over it. Low and behold! he fixed it so the remainder of us (some had decided to go home at this point) carried on through the 'lane of gates', but a mix up led to Diesel being separated form the rest of the pack with 4 other riders and I had to go back a couple of miles to find them. We eventually reached Matlock and to our surprise it was still light so after watching the steam train pass under the road, we all went home.
John I thought it was 21 bikes yesterday, did you count 23? if so did this include Wigan Bob who joined us at Buxton?
