When my '08 was two years old I noticed that the centre stand was reluctant to fold up, I stripped it down and was surprised to find the centre tube rusty, Honda obviously omit greasing them on assembly. The answer was to fit a grease nipple, it fouled and soon fell off. Recently I noticed the stand again not lifting up again, the stand was also rusty.
The tube again was red rusty! I've wire brushed, primed and 'Hammerited' the stand. Before I assemble it what grease should I use? This weakness also applies to Cubs, are there any long-term cures or mods?
