I was shopping recently in Brum when I saw an elderly rider on a Cub, tee shirt, flip flops no gloves and a fag on. He stopped giving me the opportunity to have a chat. He'd had it from new, it was battered and more than a little tatty, there was a rather nasty bolted on repair around the dreaded rear rot area but it was ticking over like a Singer sewing machine. It had covered 61,000 miles and had given absolute stalwart service with the minimum of attention he told me. How many new road rockets will be able to boast such a wonderful history?
