I have three tricycles, one is in Australia, don't ask... the other is a 1910 tricycle with a fixed gear and differential Abingdon axle, my best ride was about ten years ago, I completed five 25 mile circuits in Scotland in a Veteran-Cycle Club event. Then there is my everyday mount, a 1957 Higgins 'Ultralite' tricycle with differential and transmission hub brake. Again about ten years ago I successfully rode up Mon Ventoux 1909m in Provance. I rode it with a mate on a similar trike, we stopped and paid homage to Tommy Simpson who died on the famous climb in 1967. the downhill return was fabulous.
During my any long distance tours with camping gear I could never reduce the luggage weight to under 35 pounds, so with the weight of the bike that was around 65 pounds to pedal... not too much under the weight of a Cub...
