lifan 110/hot and oil leaks!

The thrash to Wales and back has seen the lifan 110 (2500 miles old) get a couple of oily patches,around the motor.Its not dripping or useing enough to need topping up though.Just got back from a gentle trip into town (cool and wet ride)and the motor has started to give off that realy hot smell/slightly oily...you know? There appears to be oil now leaking from the clutch adjustment nut (never ever touched one of these),not sure about touching it to cure the leak?? I noticed when I got home from Wales (pretty much 4 and bit hrs of wide open throttle) that the motor was red hot! Is this just normal or a sign of immpending DOOM!!?
