Hub's new toy

Hub has got some thing else to play with now,....Nutty. Since I've got it going he's been down there almost every day to start it up. He's like a kid with a new toy. Today he's pumped the tyres up and now he wants to clean it and get it sparkling. That means taking all the grease off that I covered it in to protect it when we put it down there. I have told him that after he's done that he'll have to re-grease it again but he's not bothered. He's actually listening to me now about ways to look after the bike. One being to get it on it's centre stand instead of the side stand. The centre stand on Nutty is a bit short meaning that if it's up on that both wheels are still touching the ground and the bike is unsteady. Being on the side stand all this time has meant that the weather has been mainly on the one side and it's that that's causing a few problems. (I need to look at them a bit more closely) For some reason he took the cover off a while back and that too has allowed the weather to get at the bike.
Now though he's found a block of wood to stand the centre stand on, (then I can look more closely at the wheels/brakes as I'll be able to spin the wheels) and after he's cleaned it and re-greased it he's promised to put the cover back on it.
Thank gawd though that the bike is down in the basement otherwise I think he'd be tempted to ride it up and down a bit. And that wouldn't be a good idea.
