Ha tis true the clown bike made it round with just blowing a headlight bulb and had a cracking time. The spare engine was a fail safe as the lifan had reached the 6000-7000 mile mark when the dreaded gear box trouble seems to start but just as easily could be fitted to any of the cubs that went. And as going up the St Bernard pass from France in to Italy and the Passo de Simplione in to Switzerland which was spent in 2nd gear for an hour and full throttle it seemed like a good idea as i know first hand about being stuck out on your own. Well despite the camping gear and the spare engine on the back the lifan pulled no problems but was a bit bugger getting round the downhill hairpin bends on the way back over the other side Only managed to embarrass myself once on the trip and im very sure the photo will haunt me for many years ahead and a bit of a panic on the way back as Jason got blown of by 70mph winds on the way back and broke his collar bone but the Police were great and very helpful so all in all the trip of a life time Was a pity that some fat bloke jibbed on us but we did take a photo of him to remind us of him And as the clown bike breakdowns only happen when im with him i think that he gets up in the night and sabotages it for comedy value
