Primary clutch is on the crankshaft (like a Cub) secondary clutch is on the gearbox input shaft (like a Wave / Innova)

Secondary clutch supposedly gives a smoother gearchange as it's turning slower than the engine.

You can easily tell which type it is by looking where the clutch adjuster screw is.
