We only have to pay tax to support those who don't work like the MPs and Lords.
There was a thing called a fuel escalator that put up the fuel duty every year to cope with diminished sales of fuel etc.This ahs been set a bit back as the price of fuel got more for other reasons but its still there lurking in the background.
