The price of a C90....

About 14 years ago i was living in Scarborough when i had a call from Paul, a mate of mine who lives in Barnsley (near where i used to live),"theres a cub in admag £165, one owner, 1,500 miles...needs a battery, do you want me to have alook at it for you". Well wasn't i a lucky boy, Paul could have quite easily have bought it and made a good profit on it. It was a d reg in red, a lovely looking thing in nearly new condition. It just needed to battery and the carb cleaning.... i soaked the jets in a combination of vinegar water and salt ( i think thats what it was, anyway it did the job) and it was up and running like a good un.

Anyway to the point, i know there will always be the odd bargain to have, but these days there seems to be fewer about. I used to buy my bikes out of the admag, but over the last few years ive found them on ebay or Bike Trader, but the prices of cubs seems to have hit the roof, especially on ebay.

Some of the prices are crazy, are people just trying their luck or can you still get a decent one a good price. At one time i would have thought £350 would get you an ok one and £600 a really nice one, but my how things seem to have changed, decent ones seem to be about a grand.

My question is.... what would you pay for a 12 volt cub and what would you expect for that money.

To finish with, i kept the cub for just over a year and put a good amount of mileage on it. It was used just about every day, in both good and bad weather and never let me down. I sold it without regret at the time, but it's one of a few bikes i still wish i had around the back of the house.

Cheers
Wuyang
