I did Direct Access on a Suzuki Bandit 600, so now I am allowed to ride any size of bike. You have to have done a CBT first, then the Theory Test. After that comes Module 1, where you have to do a series of manoeuvres off the road at the DVLA Test Centre and then finally Module 2, which is the road riding part and takes 40 minutes with the examiner following on his bike. It cost me £675 which I thought was plenty, but talking to some lads from different schools, they were paying anything from £925 to £1200!!! The riding school I went to was Bikeskool at Sutton in Ashfield Notts and I couldn't have wished for better.
