There’s a shortcut to heaven it’s been said to me
The only qualification needed is a love of the TT.
It’s just after the bungalow where the heather and the gorse
Can touch the clouds on the famous mountain course.
So throw on your leathers and hop onto the chair
and for one last time, as team mates, I’ll bring you there.
The pinnacle of road racing that is the Isle of Man
we’ll take it together, as fast as we can.
A tap on the shoulder means we are underway
We will glide over Ago’s and say goodbye to Bray
Show boat the few bridges, Union Mills after that,
then with eyes and arse tightly shut its Ballyscarey flat.
Villages then Ballaugh always taken mid-air
We'll keep it lit all the way to Parliament Square
Hairpin, waterworks and Gooseneck we begin to climb
and negotiate the mountain section for one final time
We’ll sweep around the Veranda and Bungalow too
but as Hailwood approaches I’ll have to say goodbye to you
Brandywell section is as high together we can get,
you can just drift away, no tapping out I’ll bet
Waved marshals flags in the cool mountain air
will be the signal to me that you’re no longer there
With tears in my eyes and bike in limp mode,
Alone the descent down to Glencrutchery Road
