Honda C50 not starting

I replaced the head on my C50 cub some years ago and it hasn't run since. I remember that I had to swap the head and piston as a pair as they weren't identical to the originals. Now I am trying to get the bike running. New fuel. Charge battery. set points and tappets. CHeck spark. Nothing other than the occasional 10 revolutions and a phut or two. Any ideas?
