A few years ago i had to abort my French trip at Toddington services on the M1 due to major engine over heating. I was not to happy about this but at least Sooty, in the hands of Bogger had a good piss take 
I pulled a few bits off the engine today and found some melted/deformed O-rings on the inlet spinner. I think this might be part of the problem. Though holding the throttle on the stop did not help
