C100 ignition problems

Hi all - pleased I found this site! My '64 C100 had been laid up since 1978 till I bought it at auction. After cleaning the carb and changing the oil, I got it started and had it running well for several minutes until it stopped. It doesn't have a battery fitted so was running purely by magneto I guess. Anyway, I now don't have any spark despite cleaning and setting the points and fitting a new spark plug. Obviously something happened to cause it to stop so abruptly! Does anyone have any pointers or checks I can make, please?
