I went to the local Vellocette owner club North West Do, only Seven miles down the road from where I live. It was, as the title says at the Colliery Museum at Astley Green. It’s a place that’s really worth a visit if you are near Manchester. There were plenty of Vellocettes there plus loads of other interesting bikes. I hope you enjoy the images.

The winding shed

Vellocette 250cc horizontally opposed. There were quite a few there

Nice 1960's Bee Emm 250. The bloke who owned it was about 90 and was having trouble kicking it over. He took me up on my offer of help. I just wanted to start it really. It sounded sweet when running.

Believe it or not, but this is a piston ring

I don't think you'd want to carry these in your toolkit

The piston ring was out of this mind

This chap turned up in full regalia on his WW2 vintage Triumph.

He did come 'Tooled up' mind

One for the side car enthusiasts

Nice CD200

An even nicer CD200 next to a tatty Matchless

I was only there for a couple of hours or so, but I really enjoyed it. The museum is worth a visit if you are up Manchester way. Oh the good thing was,it was all free
