Been there Evo. Can't being arsed is unfortunately a sign of depression.
I remember towing my boat all the way up to Oulton Broad to go sailing, but couldn't be arsed to put it in the water.
If you're going the 'Smarties' route, don't fook about with prozac, tell him to get the Citalopram out. Top drawer stuff, but expensive. They'll try to fob you off with all kinds of shite before prescribing that. I think it's made in Sweden. It works.
