Well a hopefully fairly accurate MPG test complete for the little Suzuki FL 125 address to give its full title! So run bike till it conks out which equals empty tank...take 1 Imperial gallon or 4.54 litres, measured at petrol pump of unleaded and pour into bike (in 2 parts tank holds 4.3L according to handbook) then ride ride ride!(worth noting you now need to carry some fuel with you for when the inevitable happens!) So finally after 3 days commuting with gauge in the danger zone, this morning's commute was but clenching...was that a stutter oh no not now! Can't sit in traffic even with no fuel so gunned it up the middle and stutter stutter oh no she' going! Like Moses parting the red sea slipped into a gap in the traffic and off down a side road to conk out. Check miles and wow 142 mpg, that's pretty much commuting in 30 and 40 limits 10 miles a day...fairly sedately most of the time... Tank range itself at last check was 124 miles although tank not brimmed. So fine handling and nippy bike with only gripe being fuel gauge that stays full for days then plummets to red, ignore red zone and let gauge drop down to the E on gauge then let it drop further still! Probably been doing at least 35 miles with gauge in red zone! Yeah I know...garage is a state...
