This I'm afraid is the downside to the bikes fetching good money.
I sold one (90)last year for £1700 or was it 1750? It was 100% genuine though and really ought to have been in a museum. It even had the factory paper label on the engine. 1825 miles on the clock.
I only had two serious buyers look at it at the end of the day. It wasn't a quick sell.
It was a nice touch but not easy money.
The reason I asked about Copdock, is there was a 50 displayed there, with a yarn about it's 100% originality, how it had been stored in a lounge covered in dust, was just cleaned and presented.
Of course we pulled it to pieces. It was a restoration, 100%. Wrong bolts, spokes, overspray, to name a couple of things.
Why the owner decided to spin such a yarn about his bike, is completely beyond my comprehension. Folk are strange.
