I did post about my up and coming new shed

. My other new shed is a 1987 VT500ED, no not the cruiser one, the other one

. I have always had a bit of a soft spot for these bikes without really knowing anything about them. I have to say it's surprisingly torquey and when you wind the throttle open it's also pretty quick, for what it is......which is a 28yr old shed. The saving grace is that it did not break the bank to purchase. Far from it

. The deal was done on a weekend away, at of all places, Rhayader, in August this year. I tend not to thrash it, but bimble along between 60-70 mph. The plan it to keep it 12 months then palm it off on some unsus....er sell it as the fine machine it is. JJ did give it a sort of back handed compliment on a recent camping trip the Yorkshire. When I started the bike in the morning and it started first touch of the button and sat there quietly ticking over, he commented, with a look of disappointment on his face. 'Uh, oh, I wasn't expecting that'

. And as such he resolutely refused to do any form of racing on the way back home. The only thing he has done is to go out a buy a Honda CB500
