Thanks Radar. Yes, if you run the engine with the dipstick screwed fully home and then switch off the engine, release the dipstick, it makes a really loud hissing noise and pushes the oil out as well, just like shaking a 5 litre bottle of coke and then undoing the lid. I think it must be the head gasket piston pressuring the crankcase, but as I said, it was running perfect before the casing were taken off.
