This ends the story of Big Migs bottom end change, but before I close the topic I thought I would add one last handy tip when it comes to getting gearboxes to change nicely. In the photo you can see that the gear lever has been depressed and the selector barrel has revolved until the wheel on the end of the little sprung loaded arm has located centrally in the corresponding depression on indexing plate on the end of the drum. If when you depress the gear lever the little wheel doesn't finish up centrally in the depression then grind a bit off or add a little weld as required to the arm where my finger is pointing
