It's a contentious subject with debates about it on many motorcycle forums.

Myself, I never use so called "motorcycle oil" ever in my bikes and never had any problems and I know there are great many bikers whose experience is the same.

However there are those who feel differently and only use "motorcycle" specific oil.

Wise not to get into debates about it

The user manual recommends (Castrol multigrade oil 20/50 or 10/30)
read into that what you like
