Yes, a superb write up and really good photo's there Bogger, Thanks for tasking the time, I really enjoyed it this morning 
Fascinating piece of Victorian engineering there too, a place I'd certainly like to visit sometime.
I had a "steady" ride out with the South Lincolnshire Autocycle club a few years back and it was jolly pleasant too. The one thing that sticks in my mind was riding along slowly through a village lane and being overtaken by a still rotating flywheel which had parted company with the Raleigh Runabout to which it was formerly attached 
Half hour of roadside bodging had us all on our way once more
