Breaking down aboard is a rum doo all round and lord knows ive been there not an experience i would like to relive. But i was with Ebike at the time, they say you only find out how good cover is when you need it and they were first class. To get towed off a French motorway will cost 171 euro and i only went a mile or so to a Honda dealership (Ebike paid) Cant get parts so taxi into town from the dealership(Ebike paid) hire car, nice new Fiat Punto from Nancy to Callis 515km(Ebike paid) Budget hotel because no foot passengers on boat after 21.00(Ebike paid) Foot passenger ticket to Dover(Ebike paid) Another hire car from Dover to home 219 miles (Ebike paid) So the up and down of it is I recommend Ebike insurance The people i dealt with had a good geography of the country and spoke the language which saved me a load of grief But about being under 121 cc i don't know as the bike was registered and insured as a 125. If the bike is anything more than what it says on your documents which 99.9 0/0 of the time is not an issue until something goes wrong( which can happen when in riding in groups ) your in trouble. Im sure Ady will know more about things of this nature and will happily fill you in on the details.
p.s The trip was to the Czeck Republic which was one of the counties that the breakdown cover was void in
Me and Salty never had and bother when we went to Ireland in 2009 well apart from a loose stub axle the clown bike strikes again, but people are so friendly im sure you wouldn't be stuck for long.
And If your going to Ireland get yourself to a Culchie festival its madness
a proper random weekend
