I love the maxi scoot attire.

Casual you understand, no need to be formal on these occasions, so a god stout pair of brogues, and stay press trousers - better tuck them into your socks as one wouldn't want a draft around the nethers.

Casual shirt and one of those new fangled knitted ties, perhaps a fair isle jumper so beloved of the Duke of Windsor in his brash youth before he became King George..

I must say these new dayglo affairs do assault the eyes a bit but do a sterling job of keeping ones Harris Tweed jacket in good fettle. Nothing worse than turning up at a cousins country pile in a soggy jacket that one has to wear all afternoon - those places can be awfully draughty; one could catch one's death.

Anyhoo, just got time to rodger the new upstairs maid before elevenses - tootle loo.
