I fear you have little choice but to disturb everything......
Remember to remove the change drum bolt on the LH side otherwise you will be wondering why the cases won't part after removing all the bolts from the RH side.
Use a heat gun on the main bearing casings to make it easier to separate and join.
if you have a roll of lining paper from your last decorating venture it makes a great bench topper and you can see and lay out all the parts in a sensible order.
I always remove bolts in a clockwise manner starting from 12 o'clock, laying them out in sequence for refitting.
Get a decent gasket scraper, I use a pull type cabinet scraper as it won't dig in.
If something won't come apart or go together, take a breather and think about it over a cuppa (used to be a fag in the old days).
I find it easier to start the piston in the bore on the bench and then put it on the motor/gudgeon pin and clip, it will just show the pin hole in the piston when the rings are bedded.
