110 head problem

started to get a strange sort of head blowey sound on reving up from a tick over when hot, and the tick over had gone very iratic, so off came the legshields, no visual sign of a blowing head in fact every thing as clean as a whistle. so started it up, whisps of smoke coming from around the spark plug, spark plug tight and no leak from around the washer but tried a brand new plug with a brand new washer, still smoking so off with the head, no sign of a blow any where on the gaskets and valves seating ok. so robbed the e22 head of my spare 90 engine and fitted that "problem solved" post mortem on the 110 head has revield nothing, my conclusion is that there must be a crack in the head somewhere in the air tunel tht runs through the casting that runs from the side of the exhaust tappet cover and emerges above the spark plug but cant be seen in the combustion chamber until it gets hot. has any one else had this problem and have i missed somthing. dont want to buy a new head if its somthing simple that i have missed. cheers Griz.
