An interesting story Reesy, I can understand them being interested in your bike, but to not even acknowledge you, well that's just ignorant! 
What you should do, is go back into their shop tomorrow with a load of your mates and start pointing at all the fish, sausages and pies etc behind the counter, making comments about how great they look and what good value they are. Get really enthusiastic just like they did with your bike. 
... Then leave!
