Well I finally got around to having a look at me latest purchase since I fetched it home a week and a half ago. I hadn't actually heard it running, the chap offered to put some of his "lawnmower" petrol in it but I declined. I took him at his word

the engine was sweet, I wanted to change the oil in it and strip and de-gum the carb regardless before running it up. So I duly did these tasks today and checked the tappets, topped up and charged the battery, the battery is amazing, been stood for 3 and a half years and its actually taken a charge and holds it

testimony to "Yuasa" O/E batteries being top notch gear. Refilled the motor with M/C specific 10/40 and no kidding, after turning it over on the kickstart with ignition off it fired up first kick once switched on

. All the lights, horn and indicators worked without any fettaling. So off came the "L" plates and away we go.

I gave it a run up to the village this evening and it rides like new, I forgot what its like to ride a 90 with a standard 15T sprocket, but everything is spot on, gears, clutch the lot. I even picked my youngest lad up from his mates house on the way back, I rekon its the first time the rear foot rests and pilion seat have ever been used

So all in all I'm well happy
