we painted my mates 28ft fibreglass cruiser boat with B&Q one coat about 7years ago, and it still looks good and still has a bit of a shine to it, but even though its one coat we did use a primer under it, "wilco water based"

i also painted my old volkswagen van with it and the same primer at the same time and that still looks good too.
