Seems like they did it ok and a potential bunch of C90 owners to attend future cub events.

"Bikers ride to Newquay for bowel disorder fundraiser

A CONVOY of motorcycles was cheered through the quiet village of Ash as bikers helped raise the profile of a charity that supports children with a rare bowel disorder.

Last Friday (July 27), a group of more than 40 motorcyclists left the Greyhound pub and travelled hundreds of miles to Newquay in Cornwall, in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for the Champs Appeal, launched by the family of a boy called Jacob, who suffers from Hirshsprungs Disease.

Biker Brad Warton, of Osprey Gardens in Aldershot, has a son called Jack with the same condition, and he joined the others in the C90 bike challenge organised by his friend Paul Cook from Ash.

Mr Cook said: “We did it over two days and it was fantastic.

“None of us owned a C90 bike so we all went out and brought one for the challenge. They cost up to £1,000 each.

“Some of us did not own a bike licence either, so over the six months of planning this event, we learnt how to ride a motorbike.

“The oldest bike dated back to 1974, and this event is something we would definitely love to do again.”

Mr Cook wanted to thank Kelly Van Hire and Alexander Removals for providing support vans.

Jack’s grandmother, Sharon Moore, said: “It went really well and lots of people stopped to have and a look and let them through on their journey.

“People took videos of them too as they passed through the villages and towns. The bikers all had a really good time and thoroughly enjoyed it.”

The challenge raised £7,500 for the appeal, which was set up in 2010 by Sara Jones to support research carried out into the disease at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.

Ms Jones said: “We hope to also arrange a fully funded day out for children with the disease.

“A day out may not sound like much, but this disease is so isolating and many people do not understand the day-to-day implications.”

Hope to see a few of them at some cub functions in the future.
