Hi Fuzz.
I didn't realise we had matching Monkeys. The picture with Cheri on shows the original wheels the same as yours, the other piccy shows the current wheels, which are also 8" but alloy, the front is 2.5J with a 3.5" tyre and the rear is 3.5J with a 4" tyre. They are old OO racing items bought cheap on ebay, the rear fitted straight on, but I had to turn 2.5mm off the front hub flange to centralise the front wheel. Tyres are Kings (scary as hell in the wet), but came unused with the wheels for the princly some of £60 including postage. Swing arm is standard as you can see, I wanted to keep the bike as small as possible and just learn to live with the extreme twitchiness (never take a hand off the handlebars to wave). The shocks are Honda C70 items I had knocking around, I extended them to the correct length using spacers made on the lathe and replaced the original undamped items. The exhaust is the standard item, cut open and modified to be more free flowing and then welded back together with a larger tail pipe fitted at the same time. It's very quite and copes easily with the 107cc engine. I know what you mean about the rear hub issues, not helped by the total lack of any cush drives, which convinced me to stop at 107cc. I modified my rear hub by countersinking the back of the wheel bolt holes and then screwing stainless steel countersunk bolts in with loctite from the brake side. So the wheel now locates on studs with nylock nuts. Going back to the engine, another reason I stopped at 107cc is that I kept the original 72cc engine and just fitted bits from broken 110 engines I had knocking around. The crank, cam chain and studs came from one engine, the piston and head from another, and finally the barrel from another. It cost me nothing to do and makes me laugh to think that its made from 4 different engines in total :)
