Swapping racks

How hard - easy is it to swap racks from one bike to the other? Looking at it I have to take off the suspension and pull the rack bit off the thing (spindle?). I know that I should do one side at a time meaning that I'd have to slip the suspension back on whilst I take off the other side but is it a muscle thing to get it off that spindle? It does seem a good fit.
