As Bogger would say "shocking lack of preventative maintenance".......
Guess what I found full of rusty water....
That will be a front wheel bearing then!
Also brake shoes smeared in grease as the seal had failed - good job I was on the front then 
I know the back ones are good - had a feel when the back wheel was off for the puncture repair.
