It can be done,but you would have to drill out the 6v spindle hole,10 mm,in the forging to the 12mm required for the 12v shaft.When Honda changed to the 12mm spindle they didnâ€™t go to the expense of changing the forging,so thereâ€™s no problem with weakening it.I have done it and ran it for years without any problems.
