I've never done that particular swap. But from all accounts it is a straight swap. Those that I have known that have done it have kept the original carb and head.
Change it over for a seventy barrel. See what the performance increase is like, then you could always start playing around with carbs etc. If it all goes tits up. Just revert back to the fifty carb.
