For those interested, Nikola Tesler was one of the most fascinating pioneers of electricity, particularly in the development of ac theory. He was also a most peculiar bloke, extremely reclusive and the demonstrator of large-scale and terrifying experiments involving massive voltages and bolts of man-made lightning, often with himself standing in the middle of it all.
There is an extensive feature on him on Wikipedia which is well worth a look.
